TV Shows to Watch, Summer 2017

Le Mans: Racing Is Everything is a behind the scenes look at what is possibly the most famous, and hardest car race in the world. Excellent access, interesting views and Amazon TV's easy access this is a must watch for any 'petrol-head out there.

Sadly the commentary is staid and somewhat condescending, but if you can overlook that, it is a family fun watch.

Preacher. Oh my fricking Lord, Preacher is coming back. One of the most interesting and fun TV shows I have seen this decade is coming back for a second season.

Preacher is a US television series based on a DC Comics series called Preacher. This was created by two of my favorite artists - Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon. The show is an incredible genre mix, with elements of drama, black comedy, supernatural and horror all present. The series premiered in May 2016 with a 10-episode season.

The basic story is that of a Preacher with issues who is taking over a parish, whilst performing miracles by using black magic. I think. It gets confusing. It is always fun though!

Game of Thrones. Season 7. Need I say more?

Game of Thrones, Jon Snow (WARNING SPOILERS)

Jon Snow is The King in the North.

He is also a particularly bad leader when it comes to battle, being saved repeatedly by others' actions.

Headstrong, arrogant and a bit of a bastard, we still love the character - and here is why;

It must be said that his brothers did murder him, but just the once. Game of Thrones, even though it is in its 7th season, really is getting stronger and stronger.

Here are some theories about Game of Thrones:

Rugby, NFL and GoT

In between the air raid sirens and news alerts on my facebook stream, there are a few posts that are little nuggets of goodness and fun. Just whats needed in Casa Jumblerant these days.

And for all of you NFL fans out there, here is a neat comparison of American Football vs. Rugby.

I'm not sure who wins there, but at least we get to see some impressive smashes!

Talking of some serious skills, here is the Queen's Guards playing GoT theme tune, and I believe it is outside Buckingham Palace (or Buck House as Aunty liz like to call it).

This game of Thrones remix is awesome. Just a genius at work. Enthralling to an extent that I kind of forgot what it was about and watched him at work.

More of his work can be found here and on SoundCloud here

Recognisable Music

I've written before about music I adore, such as the great folks over at Pomplamoose, and OKGO!, so I thought I'd share my latest experience with you.

Working in a relatively open plan office I inevitably find myself wearing thick headphones when I need to focus on something. I had some reports to write so put them on and cranked up Grooveshark and decide to listen to some classical music. A good channel called 'Instrumental FM - Music to Study, Work and Relax' had in the past been a good way to block out the background noise without the distraction of catchy tunes or new music.

Suddenly I stopped working and realised that I knew the tune being played. It wasn't the theme tune to Game of Thrones, nor was it a Pomplamoose album as there were no words.

And then it hit me, being played by no less than the London Philharmonic Orchestra:

Oh, The Good Old Days

I can see it now, my grandson on my knee, a hovercar zipping past our 345rd floor window, as I explain to him that people used to have talent:

And then there were the British, who were misunderstood:

And of course, what video blog would be complete without a Game of Thrones parody?

Game of Thrones, Season 4

English: Logo from the television program Game...
"I liked the product so much, I bought the company" to paraphrase Victor Kiam in his legendary Remington shaver commercials of the 80's.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again, I love me some Game of Thrones. I liked the TV series so much that I bought the books, on my Kindle Fire. Boy - is that an amazing series of books.

L-E-G-E-N-D-A-R-Y. No, literally, he writes about legends.

The TV show is great, and I'm really looking forward to the 4th series, but if you can, I strongly recommend you buy the books. Well worth the time and money invested.

Game of Thrones v Star Wars

As I stated in my last post, Star Wars Blooper Reel, I am a big fan of George Lucas' work. From the numerous Game of Thrones posts that Jumblerant has published in the last couple of years, there is no doubt that I am also a big GoT fan!

Game of Thrones + Simpsons

So I'm a  Star Wars fan and a a Game of Thrones fan. So these just made my day:

GoT OMG WTF?

I do like me some Game of Thrones, so much so that I'm tempted to start reading the books. But let's not go too crazy now.

So, recently Game of Thrones made TV history by being the most gosh-darned amazing TV show ever. Well, that's not a technical term, just a feeling. Quite simply they killed off some main characters in one amazing ambush.

The ambush was at a wedding.

We'd just learnt that one of those murdered was pregnant with a future king.

So that was rather.. interesting.

So here, to add to your delectation of all things Game of Thrones is an extremely amusing video made for a 10 year old's birthday party.

Swear words, violence and funky rap are all included.

Game of Thrones - Your Imagination

I have many faults. I'm the first to admit it . It's that I'm 'too handsome' or 'too clever', no, I just get annoyed at stupid people.

My main issue with stupid people is when they quote me lines from a movie, and yes, the movie was excellent but guess what - pillock - you didn't write the move, you just watched it.

A prime example is last week at the office, a part-time employee who sits at a desk near me came by and said to me 'wheres the fish?'. I looked at him as if he had just been at the markers in the board room.

An adult human foot is about 28 centimetres long.
Turns out, the muppet had been watching Monty Python over the weekend and thought that line to be the weirdest one ever. That wasn't even the part that embarrassed me, as it further transpires that he had never even bothered to watch the Monty Python TV show, which most people regard as their best work.

Silly man!

And then there are the people that think that because they have seen the film they can't now read the book, or alternatively, instead of reading the book, they'll just watch the film.

THE BOOK IS ALWAYS BETTER THAN THE FILM.

Always.

Anyway, I'm off for a can of spam and a wafer thin mint in a minute but before that, here is someone else's rant about books and TV shows. In song form.

Game of Thrones Season 3

Its back, time to get the good wine out of the fridge, get the cheesy pops out of the cupboard and put your feet up for an enthralling Season 3 of game of Thrones.

Whats going to happen? I have no idea,. but it looks AWESOME

And for the more serious Game of Throne fans out there, if you haven't already seen them, a couple of sessions with the actors and producer regarding the new season, and seasons past.

Game of Thrones + Simpsons

My favorite TV show of 2011 was Game of Thrones. It had great acting, some very interesting plot lines, and for someone as bitter and twistde as myself, some great 'wow' moments.

Being a Brit I tend to recognise the actors in any UK show due to the limted pool of talent, and here was no exception. However, instead of going with the normal plot of 'he's a well known actor, he'll survive anything', heads come flopping off as if there's no tomorrow!

Definitely worth watching, and if you don't believe me, ask Homer (well Matt G. anyway)

And here's the real thing for my pal 'Roro'who probably still hasn't watched it!

Now, let's be careful put there...
